Can you think of a goal you’ve been putting off moving towards?
Have you been stuck in “Procrastination Station” too long with something that could really make a positive difference in your life?
I think almost every coach has their take on procrastination. My hope is that today’s tips help you see the “root” of the mental and emotional pattern that creates procrastination.
I used to procrastinate often and for quite a long time on things that I really wanted to do, but that is definitely not the case anymore because I practice these 2 tips almost daily.
Watch this week’s Awaken TV episode to hear me explain more.
Question: What are you willing to commit to as you integrate these tips into your life this week?
I’d love for you to share below, along with any other tips that have really helped you move forward on the important things you want to do.
Much love,
P.S. We have our Art of Feminine Presence™ USA event of the year coming up on May 15. If you want to meet in person and do some deep work together around your feminine leadership and your spiritual growth check out all the details here: https://femininespiritualityandleadership.com/TT
So good… You make my day Racheal… I definitely need this info.. Thank you my dear…
You are very welcome, Nilgun.
Hi,
Since beginning my spiritual path (many) years ago, I can’t help but notice that most everything is geared toward women. Even so far as to say I was invited to a “women’s workshop” because I wasn’t like “most” men (it’s not a sexuality thing, it’s a spirituality thing).
I’m not complaining; It’s just something I’ve noticed and felt the need to speak up about.
I understand that women are closer to that aspect of themselves and all the “stuff” about men being raised differently (which, for the most part they are – generally speaking, of course), the psychological aspects and such.
What is my point? Honestly, after writing this, I’m not really sure. Perhaps just looking to express myself…
Rev. Nagi, I appreciate your post as I have had the same question about why so much spiritual teaching and training is aimed at and consumed by women. Coming from the experience as a coach for spiritual entrepreneurs, I find that many men in the US aren’t that interested in delving deeper into themselves. It seems a little like asking for directions – just not in the standard operating procedures for many men.
I don’t think that men are less spiritual than women, but less interested and culturally encouraged to be interested. I also think that the dominant group (in this case caucasian males) don’t have a lot of incentive to dig deeper and change the status quo. What do you think?
Hi Rev. Nagi,
I understand what you’re saying – and it’s true. I’ve read that ~80% of the “self help” market is consumed by women. But that also means there are MILLIONS of men consuming personal and spiritual growth resources just like you and I. I’m not like “most” men either and have finally learned to see that as a strength. Welcome to the club! ;^)
There are TONS of resources written by men exclusively for men who want to grow their sense of awareness, relationship skills, spiritual connection and masculine power. I mentor men exclusively and you wouldn’t believe how many women contact me for coaching and read my newsletter.
I’m a Rachael ;Jayne fan, Barbara DeAngelis fan and follow many other woman teachers whose target markets are women. In my opinion, this more a matter of marketing strategy than an intention to exclude men.
While I DO know the value in gender specific mentoring (which is my thing), in most cases I believe evolved men and women can choose to celebrate each other and learn from each other.
Reverend, you are absolutely right. The spiritual path is different for everyone, but has been primarily geared towards women. That’s not to say it’s wrong for men, not at all, and perhaps you might be able to shed some great perspective to other males through your own journey. Have you considered starting your own spiritual group that’s more male-centered?
Now you have my curiosity up, Rachael Jayne. Are you perchance saying that the 9 Enneatype is most prone to procrastination?
Adele, as a fellow 9, I suspect our enneatype is the most prone to procrastination. I constantly have to face my tendencies to embrace the familiar and comfortable, and as a lot of life is neither, I can procrastinate to avoid things in my life that are unfamiliar or a little (or lot) anxiety-provoking. I’m looking forward to working with R.J. to try to get better at the “do one thing each day that scares you”.
Dianne, I’m not a 9 Enneatype, but go to 9 in relaxation and like hanging out there. It’s not the best for getting stuff done. I’m glad you’ll be working with Rachael Jayne to do the one thing that scares you. There is so much power and juice there. Good on you!
This is so familiar BUT at the same time it is an eye-opener for me! I am so grateful for these insights, Rachael Jayne!
I’m so glad to hear it, Neelia!
Thank you, thank you , thank you Rachel Jayne. This is what I had to hear. OMG my writer;s block is popping up every time and I have a huge resistance doing a presentation in June. I recognize what you are saying and am so happy to hear that resistance is okay, normal and can be dealt with. Already I feel a kind of switch in my energy field.
I sure will start practicing.
HAPPY EASTER and lots of love, Erika
Erika, yes – resistance is completely normal for most of us, and I’m so happy to know you are experiencing a positive change in energy.
Dear Rachel,
I like your way of talking and that at the end of each video you say everything is temporarly. I wish I could believe that…
I chose this topic because I feel I am quite needy and because of that it feel I cannot help myself and this pushes people away. I need this, I need that, I became dependent on having friends around, calling them …but that’s not heathy. Maybe I a not at the same page as you.
I perceive now…being needy is a problem, and that I should be able to handle my despair, or panic when I am bymyself – alone.
I don’t see as something positive being needy…because people might not be there all the time for me…and I like it or not I grew up and I should be able to manage my life. I don’t do well here 🙁
I will see if I can put down why do I need (not want) a man, but again I am thinking of me again and again and again 🙁
I would love to understand this at deeper level… until I don’t push away most important people fromm my life :(:(
Hi Claudia – I know this subject can be a little challenging to grasp. Thanks for your curiosity and question about it. Every part of us serves a purpose. We need to be able to access all parts of us.
Needy has a virtue of realizing that we are dependent on others, that it’s important to have attention from others. Needy allows us to receive and share our vulnerability. Are these things hard for you? If they are working with the shadow of needy is a really great practice.
I highly recommend the book “Dark Side of the Light Chasers” by Debbie Ford if you are wanting to move through this and understand more. Also at our Art of Feminine Presence events we do this work. You can find out more about those at http://FeminineSpiritualityandLeadership.com/TT
Beautiful, thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you took the time to answer!
🙂 These things are quite hard, to be honest. I thought being needy it’s a problem, and I don’t do much of the shadow work. Perhaps some time in the future.
Just out of curiosity, do you plan to come to Prague, Czech Republic?? It would be lovely!!!
Thank you for the book!!!
Thanks Rachael Jayne, great advice.
Rev Nagi, I’m wondering if one of the things behind the apparent over representation of women in the spiritual / self help area is that the traditionally Feminine qualities are what is most clearly needed in creating a healthier more loving world; and Women everywhere have inherited ways of being that belittle or disable the depth and power of the Feminine gifts. Not to say men don’t have them , of course they do; but they are not the default setting for men.
Women need to heal much of our inherited self belittlement, and rediscover the true Feminine potency that life is calling for now.
5 hundred years ago when exploring the planet was needed to start bringing an awareness of the oneness of humanity ( and all of life perhaps) it may have been more important that the masculine qualities were promoted. Now we need the Feminine to be much more powerful to restore or create sustainability to life.
There’s a thought to consider.
I also feel that all conscious men and women recognize the sameness in the otherness of each other, while honouring the differences. We can and must work together in creating a world that better expresses the best in humanity.
Well done, Rosie – great insight!
Dear Rachael Jayne,
Thank you so very, very much for your amazing series of videos!!! They are profoundly practical, helpful and inspiring!!!
Thank you, Jennifer. It’s great knowing that you like them so much!
Great video! Thanks RJ! What type in the enneagram are you referring to? I’ve watched the video several times but can’t find what type you’re referring to… Thanks. 🙂
