Think of 3 people you follow online.
What do you think their lives are really like?
Most of the time you only see what is going great in their lives and you don’t see what is challenging or even heart-breaking.
I know people who make a lot of money and look very “shiny” on the outside, but who are in physical chronic pain constantly. I know people who have million-dollar businesses but who don’t make much money for themselves.
Why am I telling you this?
This week on Awaken TV, I want to support you in healing the dynamic known as “Cyber Envy.” It wastes a lot of time, and it makes us feel terrible about ourselves.
Do you find yourself comparing yourself to others online and coming up short? Watch this short video today for some relief and an important mindset shift.
Transparency is a high value of mine, so watch my invitation to you to ask me anything that is going on in my life, behind the curtain.
We all have our successes and we all have our challenges.
Post a comment or question below. Do you have practices that help you to not waste time being envious of people when you are surfing the internet?
Do you have a question for me? I’d love to hear from you.
Much love,
P.S. If you are a woman and suffer from comparing yourself to other women a lot, our Art of Feminine Presence training heals that wound. We have events all over the world, and you can see the dates and countries here. It’s heals many aspects of our connection to other women and to our “feminine.” https://femininespiritualityandleadership.com/TT
Hi Rachael Jayne,
This video has come at a perfect time for me. Have been having major cyber envy lately. Thanks for your advice on comparing yourself to others. Will be very helpful next time I’m online falling into that trap.
Amy xxx
P.S My question for you… I have a little bit of sconce cyber envy. How do you hang your sconces so perfectly 😉
Actually Amy, my dad hung those for me. I can’t take the credit. I hear you are a famous ceramic artist from Australia and I love your website http://AmyKennedyCeramics.com. You have a lot to be grateful for.
Thank you for this important topic of Cyber Envy. I was shaking my head in acknowledgement of how you hit my secret insanity. I appreciate that you are talking about this topic. I feel like I have more compassion and empathy for why I have been obsessed with what is happening to others, when I feel like I live such a lonely life. The TRUTH is that I have very meaningful work and I have a lovely family and a host of friends, but the Cyber Envy has had me in a loop of feeling so much less than. This was good food for the soul today.
I’m so glad to hear that you could identify with my video, Carol. Sometimes we do get caught in the cycle of feeling like we’re not good enough when comparing ourselves to others, which is why it’s so refreshing to take a step back and look at things for what they really are.
So beautiful!!! Thank you dear!!
You’re very welcome, Claudia!
So appreciating and feeling loving for you Rachael for all you share with such authenticity and
compassion.
So glad you are sharing!
Best Wishes on your way ~
Love ~ Vibha
Thank you for such kind words, Vibha. I appreciate it!
Yes. I loved it at the end when you said ‘wherever you are or however you are feeling, its all temporary’…..a wonderful reminder to just be with what is knowing that this too shall pass.thank you for sharing your own transparency Rachel Jayne – your authenticity is shining!.xo
Thank you so much, Angie. It’s nice to know you got so much from the video.
Thank you Rachel, This video is indeed and eye-opener to all “Cyber-Envy”(including myself)
Hi Anne, you’re very welcome. We all experience cyber envy at one point or another, and I’m so happy to know it was an eye-opener for you.
Thank you for bringing out and seen the very important topic!
My Q for you is….
You have chosen to have only this one scene for your videos. How did you end up with that?
I love it, it’s peaceful and brings a trust in deeper levels. Love to hear your comment!
Thanks for your question, Lis. About every 6 months to a year we change the backdrop, but this one is one of my favorites. It’s one of my meditation room at my home. Sometimes we do these videos on the road, but we’ve been home for the last few months preparing for our Art of Feminine Presence USA event which is almost upon us. In June we head to Europe and will be doing some other videos.
I’m glad it feels trustworthy to you.
Great video Rachael! I find sometimes feeling a bit envious about other women who look awesome and seem to have all answers on line. You are right: I have found humor is one of the greatest tools to reflect back how tiny this aspect of myself is compared to the amazing tools and resources I can share with others when I decide to connect and focus on them rather than on unhealthy comparisons- Thank you again! – Warmest reagards, Mónica 🙂
Thank you for the supporting words, Monica. Humor is indeed an amazing tool to help us overcome different situations in life, including envy. I’m glad you can see the lighter side of life and keep things in perspective.
Thank you, Rachael Jayne! I appreciate that you address the topic of transparency. Being transparent makes life so much easier, cause it’s really a struggle to hold an image which is not honest. I’ve been dealing with envy a lot and I see that it doesn’t get me anywhere but being stuck.
So thank you again for bringing it up.
I just have to tell you that admire your beautiful and expressive eyes, and I sense the presence in you. I can feel that you walk your talk. 🙂
Hugs,
Jaana
Thank you so much, Jaana. Your kind words mean so much.
Love this Rachael Jayne! Perfect timing. As always 🙂
