Do you resist taking time for yourself?
Do you ever think “I don’t have time to take a break to physically and spiritually recharge?”
Do you often miss your ‘morning ritual’ time for yourself?
If so, Why?
I mean it. What is the real reason you don’t regularly take a ‘spiritual time-out?’
I’m definitely someone who loves relaxing in my PJ’s; reading, drawing, and not doing much, but I admit taking a mini-retreat just for myself feels indulgent most of the time, and my mind says, ‘there is just not enough time.’
The problem is that if you don’t take time out, something may happen to force you take time out; like getting sick, your back goes out, or you get laid off. The nature of life is to bring us back to balance.
In this week’s Awaken TV, I share my biggest mindset shift that helps me to take that important time out. It’s especially important to watch if you are that person that resists taking time for yourself.

Let’s take this important ‘Spiritual Time-Out” together.
Much love,
A great reminder for me- thank you, Rachael Jayne!
Busyness is a resistance I often use to avoid taking spiritual time outs- I get caught up in what’s happening in the day, or how I’m feeling physically, and I’m not fully present and I don’t take the steps to become present.
I know something as simple and spending 5 – 10 minutes doing yoga energizes and refreshes my day. Taking my daily walk has the same effect when I focus on reaching out with all my senses and being in the moment, fully aware of each step I take.
I am hoping to attend AFP Denver this April! In the meantime, you’ve just inspired me to set an alarm to stop and do some simple yoga poses and stretches each day.
Chrysta
I’m glad you are recognizing this Chrysta! It makes such a world of difference! Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing you at the AFP dinner in April! 🙂
I LOVE this episode and couldn’t agree more Rachael Jayne. Taking time, even if it’s only a few minutes makes all the difference in your day, and in your life. It’s a “treat” for your soul. Absolutely loved the weekend intensive last year!
I’m glad you enjoyed the episode 🙂 Keep up the good practices and “treating” yourself 🙂
I feel like I always should be doing something and that a time out is wasting otherwise-constructive-activity time. I advise other people to take a time-out, but don’t do it enough myself. One great way is a bath with your favorite scent and stones, or just burning a candle and ‘zoning out’. The culture teaches us that this is wrong and wasteful, so it isn’t only my own resistance but years of conditioning that form that wall of guilt.
This sounds heavenly Paula. Thank you for sharing 🙂
I think this is something very TRUE and very difficult to have people understand it, because it cannot really be understood intellectually, but only through EXPERIENCE… Once we take this routine of sitting everyday, for some time and diving inside and letting things happen, as you said, letting the alignment operate,…. then we experience new energy, strength, creativity, so many things that seem to sprout from the SOURCE to which we connect … without thinking, without calculating anything, everything falls into place magically…
only thing to do, PRACTICE 🙂
Exactly Isabelle. Thank you for sharing! 🙂 Keep up the good practice!
In the morning I am , almost every morning , practicing the 5 Tibetans , they are very energizing and they help my flexibility . After that I do 5/10 minutes meditation just by listening to my breath.
What I also do is Do Not Check my emails for the first hour of the morning . This first hour is for me only , to focus to be in alignment about my real desires and wants. Of course if one practices this routine every day the result is presence .
And people feel it !
Thanks , Rachel Jane for sharing!
Wow this is wonderful Gabiria! Such a beautiful practice!
