This is proof!
I shot this video from my closet out of desperation.
I was running out of time to get packed for our next grand adventure to Southern California, Australia, and Hawaii. I knew I wanted to release a new video, but I didn’t have a topic, I wasn’t made up, and literally had 15 minutes before I had to leave for my eyelash appointment to look gorgeous for the trip.
This window was the only time I had.
I shot it on the fly to prove something to those of us who suffer from the ‘Plague of Perfectionism.’ I wanted to make a clear statement that it’s not about being perfect— it’s about being compelling.
How can you become more compelling?
How can you get over the fear of perfectionism when you need to shoot a video or do something you need to do that you’ve been putting off?
How have we built a business that allows us do retreats in great locations around the world?
I cover all of this – in 8 minutes – from my closet.
Watch it here and then post below the video why you kept watching it. This is also a lesson in why people watch some videos longer than others.

you’re so right! I was interested because I wanted to see what you were going to choose to wear! LOL
I enjoy listeniing to your accent! It is relaxing as I drink my morning beverage.
Brilliant video, Rachael Jayne! I watched because I was so curious about your clothes and what was going to happen in your closet! Fresh and inspiring. See you in SoCal soon! xo
Thanks for the perfectionist message. I incorporated key learnings from Denver in a recent speaking opportunity. People connected and loved it. Then the next lesson, I got their attention not don’t squander it!!!!! Thank you!
Did you catch the orb at 1:00 minute in? Sweet!
I saw the orb come in and then leave. How cute. Thanks for pointing it out.
I was fascinated by your closet! You’ve taken it to anther level there, it looks so organised, and spacious. I liked the way you moved around and decided which top you were taking.
I wanted to carry on watching you pack as I’m not very decisive when it comes to packing. I’m aspiring to a walk in wardrobe now! I do get hung up on the being/looking perfect stuff too, but I know that I’m harder on myself than anyone else is.
Interesting to watch this video – you appeared even more relaxed than the “madeup” videos. Loved it!
I want to see what you are going to wear! Been there!
I find you so easy to listen to. I really appreciate your honesty about eyelashes. You are doing regular things like packing. I can relate to you plus I so relate to perfectionism and it causes paralysis. So thank you. Love your role modelling. See you in Melbourne.
I deeply appreciate the reminder that I don’t have to be “all done up” or even know what I’m going to say to record on the fly!
Safe travels!
LOL – this video is one of the reasons I love your work, Rachael Jayne! Delivered here with lightness and humor and (as always), authenticity and inspiration. This reminder that we don’t need to be perfect, and perfectly prepared, is gold. Total gold.
So that’s what drew me in. Then what kept me watching was enjoying seeing how you have your closet organized. To organize by color, or by sleeve length, that is the question…lol. Thanks for all of this today. This made my afternoon. 🙂 Safe travels!
I
What an engaging video! Not only did I learn about prefectionism, with which I struggle. But, I saw your little orb fly by twice AND, I want you to share a video on how easy it can be to select clothes for a trip. You’re going to be gone for a long time and didn’t seem to struggle with what to bring out of your closed. I’m so impressed! Enjoy!
Perfect timing for me Rachel. Thank you. I stayed because I loved the natural perfect imperfection…the beautiful “real” energy xxx
I kept watching because I love you bunches and your authenticity is refreshing. Somehow, this gives us all permission to just go for it!!! Safe and loving travels💜
Why was I still watching? Good question as every 10 words spoken , the video kept loading (not Perfect) , so it was hard to get into your story.
But what kept my attention was My need to hear your truth, wisdom in the hope it would give me more clarity.
I loved how you stayed in the moment for you, by preparing your clothes , but closer to the end you changed into full attention to me ( watching the video) to give the important message.
I definately suffer from perfectionism and fear which created the safe probem, so I did not have to take the next step being seen, heard and witnessed,
namaste thankyou xo
I find you and your topics interesting and you look great without the makeup.
Are you bringing AYI to the UK soon? I live in London.
Have a great trip and holidays to you both!
I watched to the end because you were engaging, your message interesting and I loved seeing your beautiful clothes hung so neatly & was interested in what you were packing for your trip!
Thanks for being real RJ
